Unlike nozzle injection, GDI intake valves are not flushed by fuel from the injectors and are particularly prone to accumulating harmful deposits before problems arise in expensive upper engines.

- Sea Foam Motor Treatment products are used in the fuel to clean and lubricate the fuel nozzles, upper cylinders and combustion chambers.
- Add 1 to 2 cans of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to the fuel tank every 2,000 - 5,000 miles
- Use Sea Foam Spray to clean and lubricate the throttle, intake ports, intake valves, upper cylinders and combustion chambers.
- Use a full can of Sea Foam Spray in the throttle intake at least once or twice a year
